About Me

Profile courtesy of MySpace Layouts
OK, well that's enough about me ... lol !!!
So why one earth did I set up this myspace profile then ?
Quite simply I wanted to have my own little place or shrine where I can talk about those that I have had the pleasure of meeting or knowing in one way or another over the years. People that I admire who I have had the privilege of helping and encouraging with their respective talents, careers and ambitions because they inspire me, move me, or simply because they are such nice people to know.
I can think of no better place to start than with my next door neighbour, the ever so lovely and very lush LUCY LAYTON who initially asked for my advice about her interest in becoming a model way back in 2000 when I agreed to help her thoroughly research this with her and give her the benefit of my marketing skills and general business accument.
The term 'can of worms' springs to mind as we both delved into this in great detail and discovered how complex the whole industry is, how diverse it is, and how daunting it can be for a newcomer or wannabee when they are first starting out. We worked closely together for quite some time and quickly realised that Lucy was blessed with a curvacious figure that the fashion/catwalk industry couldn't handle and all the agents she approached kept rejecting her saying she was either too short or too curvy, blah, blah, blah, for them and that she should consider a career as a glamour model.
So what did we do ?
Well I was browsing through FHM and saw they had a competition called Miss Net UK where readers would be asked to vote for the entrants through a series of preliminary rounds until they had a final 12. Then the final 12 would appear at a night club in London where a winner would be selected. Lucy and I thought this sounded quite cool so we entered her and she made it to the final 12 where would you adam and eve it she only went and won it !!
After winning the Miss Net UK title in November 2001 she heard that this meant she would represent the UK in the Miss Net World version of the contest which took place in 2002 (one of the very first 'public vote' contests to use the internet, as it was as that time, to broadcast the contest and get people to vote for the winner), and good grief, she only went and won that too !!!
If you google Lucy Layton you will still see lots of news stories, features and articles about that contest which were put up by various news/media groups at that time which reported her success in the contest under the slogan 'Beauty Will Save The World'.
Anyhow, that was all back in 2001/2002 and so much has happened since then !!!
Lucy is the daughter of Paul Layton, bass player and founding member of the New Seekers so it comes as no surprise to learn that she is an accomplished vocalist and musician and has always dreamed of establishing herself as a performer and recording artist in her own right. She has for many years developed this side of her talents, and clearly shown that not only does she look hot as hell BUT, is a very accomplished songwriter and performer and is now on the brink of something great with her new band Gro Apple Tree as the video below shows.
Her time in modelling enabled her to develop her image, to be comfortable in front of camera and video where she has been able to harness everything she has learnt and incorporate this into her music and the whole package of being an artiste in the music industry. I have enjoyed the journey that Lucy has made from her early days as a model to where she is now and feel privileged to have played some small part in helping her, in supporting her and encouraging her and nothing would make me more proud now than to see her go on and get the success that I think her hard efforts truly deserve.

Of course I also to have to thank Lucy for introducing me to the very gorgeous and heavenly HAYLEY-MARIE COPPIN when she asked me to chaperone her (and a friend !!!) to the Sugarbabes Agency launch party back in 2002. I have to say from the getgo that Hayley just left my jaw on the floor when I first met her and at that time both Lucy and Hayley were sporting very similar hair styles, both being blonde at that time, and quite frankly, they could quite easily have been mistaken for sisters. In fact there are some pics from that time that Mark Barnfield took of them both that many may have seen that clearly show the likeness between them, at least at that time !!
Anyhow, I was flattered when Hayley-Marie asked if I could help her in the same way that I had helped Lucy get started and she told me of her ambition to be a Page 3 model with The Sun. So, we put our heads together and we worked on a plan to get the right shoots/images done, to find out who she needed to approach and hey presto, we managed to get her a test shoot with the legendry Beverley Goodway who really liked her look. It was just sods law that a few months later he announced his retirement and Alan Strutt took over the seat and we thought her chance had come and gone but NO ...... we were wrong and Hayley got the call she was hoping she would get and did a proper shoot for The Sun Page 3 which debut'd on the 11th August 2003 whilst she was away in the USA performing as a guest cheerleader with The Roar (Jacksonville Jaguars - NFL), against The Washington Redskins.
As you can imagine she screamed and squeeled with delight when I called her to tell her that she was on Page 3 that day and then she started to worry about what her folks would say, that she thought they might not be happy, etc, bless her, but she was sooooooo wrong. They were so proud of her too and the rest is history.
Hayley has gone on from strength to strength and although she was dropped from The Sun Page 3 roster at the end of 2003 after only 3 appearances she re-surfaced again in early 2004 with The Daily Star where Jeany Savage took a shine to her and her amazing figure and great bubbly personality and put her back on Page 3 where she deserved to be.
Probably one of the highlights for Hayley has to be when she was invited to be in a music video for a band no-one had heard of at that time called UNITING NATIONS for a mega dance track they had created and produced called 'Out of Touch'. I say mega dance track because although Hayley had no idea who Uniting Nations were at the time of doing the video it didn't take long for them and their 'Out of Touch' track to become such a massive hit, so much so that it still often gets played on various radio stations now !!
The moral in the story for many models is that you can never really know what each and every job/assignment has in store for you and some can turn out to be quite a pleasant surprise and loads of fun to do. This was true of the music video Hayley did for Uniting Nations where she didn't get to hear the track until she was on set, and been briefed by the director as to what was required and then they played it..... and the rest is definitely history !!
For those of you who might need a little reminder here is that music video
Lucy and Hayley, two of the nicest, most genuine people I have had the pleasure of knowing and of course, you know full well that there are many, many more that I have met, that have inspired and moved me over the years like the next lovely lady !!!
AMIEE RICKARDS, one of my all-time favourite models and for so many reasons. Of course it certainly helps that she is stunningly beautiful and has a figure to die for, that she is incredibly sexy and hot as hell but for me, Amiee is a rare breed that combines inner beauty and outer beauty in the one package. She has a great sense of humour, a great zest for life, is very passionate about what she does, very meticulous, professional and business-like in her whole approach and attitude to modelling. In a sea of mediocrity she is one model that I have a LOT of time for. I like and admire her no nonsense down to earth, say it as it is approach to life, her work ethic, her get up and go mentality toward everything she does. Amiee is no shirker and anything she has achieved in life with her career is solely down to her and her personal drive and motivation.
No-one was more pleased than I to see her not only do well in the Miss Mystique Mystical Journeys Contest back in 2005 but to see her go ALL the way and win it !!! She was a worthy winner too working hard throughout the contest to develop as a model, to grow as a person, to learn from her mistakes and to listen to all the constructive criticism and feedback she got from Mark Daughn and the whole Mystique team. A lot of girls might have been disheartened at times, or just gone for the crack ...... but not Amiee, she was there to win from day one, and from a personal point of view, it just made me love and admire this girl even more.
I could go on and on about Amiee for hours but suffice to say I think she is the nuts, the dogs bollocks if you like, and I hope she doesnt mind me using that term because it is meant as a compliment and I'm proud to know her and consider her my friend.
My myspace profile here simply would not be complete without a big shout out and mention to another two of my all-time favourite ladies, ie, ALEX SIM-WISE and CHRYSTAL LEE.
I first met these gorgeous girls in the flesh so to speak at MaxPower Live show at NEC in Birmingham in the summer of 2004 and was totally bowled over with them both. Prior to that I had known both girls through various glamour related forums and tried to offer my help, support and assistance to them with regard to their respective modelling ambitions. The MaxPower show was a major turning point for all sorts of reasons. It was such a fun show, a load of us regular forumers got the chance to meet up and have a proper get together that included webmasters from many of the models, people like myself just interested in the glamour industry and how it works, photographers, fans and admirers.
As you can see from the picture above, we all met up, had a great time and have all stayed firm friends ever since. We sometimes refer to it as 'the family' and it has been great to see each of the lovely ladies, many at the start of their careers, go on to become very successful and become established and well known to all.
So, big up to all of you; to Chumba, Paul, Colin, Mark, Scottie, Stevie and all the other lads, webmasters, togs, fans and supporters and of course to the lovely ladies : Hayley-Marie, Lucy layton, Simone Linsell, Amiee Rickards, Chrystal Lee, Alex Sim-Wise, Tanya Katerina, Terri Mai, and all the other gorgeous girls that made it such an enjoyable experience. Until we all meet again ..... I salute you all !!!
Talking of saluting people, have to give a big shout out to two more people that I have a lot of time for and sooooo admire. Firstly to Howey T aka Absolutephoto who's photography just gets better and better as this awesome pic below clearly shows.
and of course, the other person I want to mention here is the very gorgeous subject of this great image, ie, RACHAEL BODEN aka Rachael B. One of the prettiest girls in the UK with a smile to warm your heart on the coldest winter days. Has a stunning figure and lovely personality too with all the attributes I most admire in a person.
Have only known Rachael for about 12-18 months now but I have followed her career very carefully from day one and whilst she made a massive impact and first impression on me tnen, she has gone from strength to strength and blossomed into a very beautiful young lady with a great outlook on life and a great future ahead of her.
So, I hope neither Howey or Rachael mind me putting this great image up, or indeed, making my admiration of them both so public here, but credit where credit is due. Hats off to both of you !!!

I'd like to meet:

Anyone that inspires me, moves me or puts a smile on my face and makes living worthwhile (see above !!!).
I like people who have a good positive attitude, who can turn adversity into something positive and beneficial, who are determined, hard working and passionate about what they do or what they would like to do with their lives (again... see above !!!).
I like people who are not afraid to try, who make mistakes but are able to learn from them and move forward.
I like people who are 'open-minded' who able to think outside the box who can seize opportunities when they present themself or create opportunities through hard graft and effort where success can be appreciated and be more sweeter than having everything handed to them on a plate.
I like people who have a great sense of humour, who can see the funny side of life, look on the bright side of life and even laugh at themselves from time to time as I do with myself all the time .... lol !!
I try to steer well clear of people who are lazy, inconsiderate, selfish, self-obsessed, dishonest, superficial, negative, egotistical and closed-minded.
