Taking their name after the first Dadaist Manifesto so-called “Manifesto of Mister Antiprina†(Tristan Tzara 1916), the band EL SR. ANTIPIRINA come together for the first time in the summer of 1993. Their very first rough cut will come out next year, 1994, followed by several recordings with their own self-publishing. Alter a wide experience performing on stage, they are offered a first chance of recording by a music label which will turn into their first LP: Divertimentos. The album was recorded during the months of September and October, 2001 at the Garate studio under the supervising production of Kaki Arkarazo taking also part as a collaborator with the band. From that moment on EL SR. ANTIPIRINA will start a tour including a great deal of concert gigs and also performing at several festivals such as - Espantapitas, Fiestas del PCE, Festicultores, Gira por la Diversidad, La Voz de la Tierra, Festival en apoyo al pueblo Saharaui, Derramerock, Bolorock, Festival del Mestizaje, Festival de Apoyo al Foro Social Trasatlántico, Festival Red ciudadana por la Condonacion de la deuda externa, etc. The band will also contribute to remarkable events, action-takings and demonstrations like the general strike against the decretazo, concerts held against the Irak War (as full members of the Platform Against the War), supporting the freely self-managed Social Centers of El Laboratorio, Navalquejigo, La Casika, La Nevera etc. Along the months of September and October of 2003 the band took part in the recording of the documentary “Bereberia, the rendez vousâ€, film shot both in the south of Spain and Morocco. In 2005 their song sustained the final credits of the short-film “Quedaos en casa†by the Greek director Stathis Athanasiou. To their credit we must highlight different awards such as – Best Representative Pop Band and Best Pop Song obtained in the Rock Villa de Madrid 2000 Contest; Awarded as Best Novel Band at the Ciudad de Majadahonda 2000 Contest; second and first awards as Best Performer in the 2001 Rock Villa de Madrid Contest. Alter taking some time off the stage during which EL SR. ANTIPIRINA have been working and collaborating with other bands in the recording of soundtracks and the elaboration of radio programmes, EL SR. ANTIPIRINA are back again to continue with their musical project. At present the band is going through a process of creativeness evolution. On the one hand they are about to finish the recording of their latest work which will come to light by the end of 2008, at the same time that they have recently started producing remixes and soundtracks together with their performing as Djs, added to their elaboration of a weekly radio programme named LA POLLERIA on Radio Vallekas station.
