The Footsore Pilgrims

The post-punk Simon and Garfunkel

About Me

The Footsore Pilgrims was the result of a meeting between a misplaced Scouser and a young, starry-eyed hopeful from New Jersey.Michel (the American half) started off his Blighty career in a band playing some of Mark's old songs. After 6 months, he came to realise that the guy who'd written the songs wasn't actually in the band (hey, he was new to the place for heaven's sake!).When Mark and Michel finally got to meet, they bonded over a mutual appreciation of melody, harmony and shared awe of the Beatles. Some of the music they made can be heard on this site - songs of re-configured aspirations, the twisted path to faith, the bravery of innocence and the long, slow burn of heartache. And lo, Michel finally ended up in a band playing Mark's songs of which Mark was actually a member.Fate had conspired, the circle was complete.
