Well erm, let me think, I've been playing the drums since I was around 13 years old and its all been downhill since then. My teacher said to me you'll never make anything of yourself by playin them drums and he was right BUT I still had more money in me back pocket than he did ha ha..
I auditioned for Status Quo when they first started and was told you'll have to get some long trousers first kid but keep rockin.
At 14 or 15 I formed my first 3 piece RnB band (when RnB mean't rythmn and blues) called "The Concords" playing all the usual stuff by Chuck Berry, The Pretty Things, The Stones, The Who, Little Willy Wotsit you name it, we played it. The worrying thing is, it was the first time around for all this music, so don't take my profile age as gospel.
Being invited to support the likes of Acker Bilk and Kenny Ball in their heydays.
Those were the days when the girlies chased you down the street screaming, the other way round these days....
The line-up:
Keith Lewcock on Bass and vocals (now living in Milton Keynes and still hasn't grown out of it)
Viv Kendal on wonderful Gibson 335 (must of been a 61 mind you it was old then so could've been a 59 or earlier and worth a fortune now, I'll give yer 25 quid for it, Viv) Wonder where he is now.
Me on drums, vocals and womanising.
Hey lads, remember the home made PA speaker cabs covered with blue sparkly lurexy stuff complete with the matching ties (um, guess we should strike that from the record).
.............................
I'd got into cars by this stage and unfortunately never grown out of it, sold me kit to pay for my first car (Oh my god that beautiful Ludwig snare 8.5" deep and a chrome lustre to die for. I've had a hate of drum dealers to this very day....
.........................Back to the music....

Playing blues clubs and pubs throughout London and the southern counties. Anything as long as it makes yer foot tap and is infectious with a good hook.
Status Quo concerts especially if my inflatable guitar is pumped and I'm not driving home...OOOH, Whatever you want da da da.
Not forgetting the "Hamsters" best Blues band ever....
Not too keen on things that drone on and on and on and on and on and on and on etc.
Songs that lack a melody and dirges.
Self indulgent lead guitar breaks with little on no imagination and feel that go on and on and on and on and on and on and on etc and he don't know when to stop.
Folkin singers with a finger in their ear and can't sing in tooon.
Ours is on the blink, looks like a trip to Curry's or Comet or maybe one of them plasma jobbies off the back of a lorry......erm with whom does one speak?
