Band Members: Baldydrawnboy is just me, Noel Jones. If I've managed to get it working, you'll be hearing tracks from White Lightning, Static, Barrelhouse Brothers and The Fourth Wall. White Lightning were a band from the melodic end of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal and the members here are myself on vocals and lyrics, Simon Pengilly on guitar, Richard Max Goddard on bass and Jeff Ward on drums and sundry other musical accoutrements. Original bassist was Gerald Goff, he was on our one single. Static had a few lineups but was originally formed by bassist Pete Buckler, brother of Rick from The Jam. Here they are myself on vocals, lyrics and harmony guitar licks, Paddy Chambers on guitar, Andy Rose on bass and Kieran McCleary on drums. Other lineups followed but this was the one that did the most work. The Fourth Wall was myself on vocals, bass and lyrics, Rick Buckler on drums and programming and Brian Viner on guitars. Barrelhouse Brothers was a thing that Jeff from White Lightning and I did for fun (a Blues project) that gradually gathered momentum and ended up including ex-members of Jimi Hendrix Experience, Status Quo, Thin Lizzy, Van der Graaf Generator, Mountain, Mungo Jerry and a whole bunch more. Phew Wow. Blue Fuses is the band I'm involved with full time and you can see them on the website mentioned here. I do lead vocals and bass, Doug Lipinski (Douglip) does lead guitar and some vocals, Pete Brock rhythm and lead guitar and some vocals and Will Carroll (Just Will) on drums. We play Classic Rock (AC/DC, Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Motorhead etc...) and we have a lot of fun doing it too, I might add. Check out a gig if you can. Meantime, if I've managed to make this work, please take a look at the Godlike Amon Duul 2 playing "Between the Eyes", it should be just under this bit of typing. Splosh.
Influences: Lotsa, though I'm really not sure what comes out when I open my throat or flex my fingers. I love Krautrock so maybe a little influence of Holger Czukay is evident in the funkier excursions, but I dare say that Herr Czukay would probably claim never ever to have been influenced by Funk. For bass, people like Geddy Lee (Rush), Phil Lynott (Thin Lizzy), Chris Squire (Yes) and Lester Claypool (Primus) must be mentioned. For guitar, Dave Gilmour, Jimi Hendrix, Frank Zappa and many too numerous to mention. Vocals, Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins, Peter Hammill, Jon Anderson, Noddy Holder and John Peel (his sonorous tones I often imitate when leaving telephone messages, God bless him), Drums, Keith Moon, Rat Scabies, Carl Palmer, Phil Collins, Chester Thompson and our own Will Carroll (Just Will to MySpace watchers), and other instrumentalists would be David Jackson (Van der Graaf Generator sax and flute), Jon Lord (Deep Purple), Keith Emerson (ELP) and Rick Wakeman (Yes) for keyboards and Jeff Ward for anything he can get a tune out of. The Man's an effing Legend. God bless the Cardiacs and the wonderful harmonic vocals of those fine gentlemen, System of a Down.
Sounds Like: Bon Scott, Peter Gabriel and Phil Collins, so I'm told. One comment I heard many a year ago was"F***in' 'ell, he just opened his mouth and Robert Plant fell out". I quite like that one.
