In March 2001 Pete McLaughlin, manager of Woodies bar in New Malden, decided to try out "live" music to see how successful it would be. He gathered together a few local musicians, who frequented said pub, and soon had a regular evening of entertainment on his hands.
AGED TO PERFECTION consists of a nucleus of 5/6 musicians who have now jammed together since the turn of the century, packing out audiences with a wide range of well-known music of various styles, with the accent on acoustic guitars, bass, harmonica and backing vocals.
Songs include hits and album tracks by such artists as The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, Bob Marley, etc, with an emphasis on the "blues" feel. All the members have considerable musical talents and some, even, record sales! Most notably, Kip Trevor, who was a founder member of cult 70's outfit Black Widow, who achieved substantial worldwide album sales.
The accent is on having fun, whilst encouraging members of the audience to join in and jam on familiar tunes during a relaxed party atmosphere.
