The Language of Independence

About Me

What do we stand for, and what’s the point of Indieoma?
In the broadest sense, the Indieoma community lives to provide safe harbor for people that like to do their own thinking. Specifically, we aim to provide a great media experience populated with artists – music, film and design – from outside the mainstream.
As the age of mass media passes, the internet has given us the digital version of community that allows us to meet, share and discover, regardless of location. If you’re bored with the over-simplified, dumbed-down approach of mainstream media, then join us. Discover great music, movies and people. All you have to do is click the “register” button near the top right of the page, and you’ll be ready to go (technically, you don’t “have” to register, but if you don’t, you’ll miss some important things like the system remembering your customized play list when you return).
And in case you’re wondering, the name “Indieoma” is a mash up of the words “independent” and “idioma” (the Spanish word for language). Which makes our tagline – “The Language of Independence” – pretty obvious. No?
