The band was founded in October 2000 when drummer Mirko Montalbano , bassist Ciccio Pizzimenti , and singer Bruno Marzano meet and decide to start a new band. Initially, they complete the line-up with guitarist Giovanni D'Arrigo , later with 2 nd guitarist Roberto Bondi . All had had negative experiences in previous musical endeavours, and therefore agreed on mixing up their former musical genres ( Bruno & Ciccio had been in Hardcore, Giovanni & Roberto in Glam Rock, Mirko had done Black and Death Metal) to a type of crossover with influences going from NY Hardcore (alà Agnostic Front , Biohazard ) to US Nu-school (alà Earth Crisis , Snapcase ), without discarding the occasional dose of good old Funk (alà Infectious Grooves ) in order to keep everyone happy (in spite of that the band would still have future line-up changes nevertheless). The boys travel to Rome's Temple Of Noise studios in August 2001, to record a 4-track promo under the productional guidance of Christian Ice which receives outstanding reviews and results in offers from several labels wanting to sign the band. Instead, the boys go on a gigging spree, finding the live surroundings the ideal place to diversify their audience (going from the most extreme Metalheads to Hardcore freaks). A little later, they participate in the Sicilian Campus 2001 Contest , organized by the cultural association Palermo In Musica , and get a gratifying feeling when ending 3 rd on a total of about 100 competitors. Other feats the band is proud of, include a show in April 2002 (when over 700 people turned up) and one in June the same year (besides introducing new guitarist Giuseppe Musso , the band also opened for Punk legend DOA ).August 2002 sees the band return to Rome and the Temple Of Noise studio to record the 10 songs which would constitute the band's debut full-length. Originally the band planned to release the album in December of the same year, but then delay the release to find better distribution. Eventually, Temple Of Noise Records releases the album in 2006, and in the meantime Reflections had done a show supporting Italian Hardcore legends Raw Power . Another significant thing that happened, was the split with the bassist and 2 guitarists. In their place enter guitarists Alessandro 'The Shasta' Vecchietti & Michele D'Accardi (the latter of which left the band in 2006 replaced for a short period by Davide Corda) while on bass came in Davide Scalzo (who was replaced by Davide Perricone in 2007) .
So with the line up finally complete, the band released their debut album “Free violence†in april 2006 which was followed by the video "Happiness is sad".
In July 2006 Reflections organised an exeptional record release show, bringing for the first time to a sicilian audience one of the most representative bands for Reflections' sound: Agnostic Front. (yet another memorable moment...!).
So despite hardship with band members and the lack of a real musical culture and musical scene in Palermo,Reflections have proven to be one of the most willing and ambitious acts of southern Italy.
