dracula, the inferno, under the black flag (well both of them), veronica franco, the earthsea trilogy, Kafka, Henry James, historical fiction especially chinese, japanese, or mexican novels, I'm also a big believer in reading the classics at least once. one great classic I recommend is The Count of Monte Cristo (the unabridged version, yes its long but worth it!), I'm also a huge fan of a reliable atlas and bird watching books.
