About Me

Hi I'm Pat Downey and this is my book. I spend most of my free time researching New York's gangsters, molls and desperados so you don't have to. I hope you put that time to good use.If you are interested in learning more about guys like Monk Eastman, Paul Kelly, Legs Diamond, Mad Dog Coll, Murder Inc. and all the other gangsters you may have heard of (and some you probably haven't) please check it out. I think you will enjoy it.I'm also interested in history in general not just guys who garroted each other for the opportunity to sell our grandparents beer. For some more pics please check out my website www.patrickdowney.comI also have a blog at www.deadgangster.blogspot.com for your daily gangster fix.

My Interests

Dead guys in suits.

I'd like to meet:

Every family has a member from that period nobody talked about. Family lore dictates that my Great-Grandfather bootlegged hooch from Canada to Detroit until rivals sank one of his boats and said he'd go down with the next one if he didn't back off. Then he started running illegal immigrants. What's your story?

Music:

You cannot petition the Lord with prayer! Train, train sixteen coaches long, Button up your overcoat, flek-flek-flex

Movies:

My name is Maximus..., It's alive!, We don't bump guys Tom; We ain't animals like them., Beat 'em or burn 'em. They go up pretty easy. Last night I was in no condition to receive visitors but I'm reasonably sober now. What is the law! No spill blood.

Television:

Heroes:
