I'm Wayne, I'm 21 and I live in Moorhead, Minnesota - it's acrossed the river Fargo, ND - No we don't talk like the movie.. but we sure as hell rock out hard! I've been in the music biz (one way or another) since I was 19 years old
I own and operate BLACK TAPE MEDIA
It all started with THE GRAVEYARD radio show on KNDS 105.9 FM, in Fargo, ND, back in February of '06. My show was on the air for about 16 months before I quit due to conflicting interests, then I decided to move onto more constructive things. - Good news though, my show might be coming back on a new station soon! I owe all of my radio 'thanks' to RANDY from the PSYCHEDELIC VELVEETA radio show
I now manage local Fargo, ND band, VENUS IN FURS . I sometimes join them on guest vocals for their cover of Gary Numan's original song "Down In The Park". I've promoted local events around here and there, the coolest part is working with the locals - though we may not always agree, I think a majority of the local bands I've worked with and will work with all have a little bit of their own "spunk" which makes this local music scene less dull and less "corporate". I'm not afraid to jump in and help promote a local gig, even if sometimes I don't agree with the promoters putting them on - They may use that as a way to get an extra hand in promoting, but at least I'm real, I won't complain for helping the bands.
Some other places you might know me from are: I'm in the "Thanks" section of ANDERS MANGA 's "Welcome to The Horror Show" CD (Vampture/Metropolis). I also run the Minnesota Chapter MySpace of Corey Taylor's GREAT BIG MOUTH RECORDS . I also make guest appearances on a local Pirate Radio show. "Cyn1c" is the lastname I assumed shortly after I started up my first promotions company in '06, which is still registered by the way, called Cyn1c Promotions - before it converted into BTM. Cyn1c Promotions' roster was mostly industrial/ebm bands like MKIO , STRUCTURAL INTERFERENCE , COCKFIGHT CLUB , THE SAMMUS THEORY , EYE BUTTERFLY , PARTICLE SON , and BOUND IN OBLIVION .
It's actually debated what my real lastname is since my intials really are "W.C." and I've only told a few people what it actually is, haha.
I spend a majority of my time promoting music online (I'm not bad for a ""net promoter"", as some would label me), creating web art, and listening to music. I'm a normally abnormal guy, I like energy drinks, hugs from lovely ladies, quoting movies, walking around, whiskey cokes & jag, coding HTML, manipulating web graphics, tasteful zombie/horror films, video games, interviews, and going to concerts. I'm a member of a great many organizations, it's a huge list and there are way too many to list, ask me sometime. I've seen THE BIG LEBOWSKI more times than you've masturbated!!
I've met a lot of cool people and a lot of cool people know me, it's cool I guess. My first interview, ever, was with my idol and personal favorite artist, Gary Numan. I've met other such artists as Rob Zombie, Ronan Harris [vnv nation], Corey Taylor, M. Shawn "Clown" Crahan, James Root, John5, Laz and Cris [ill nino], Stella Soleil, Al Jourgensen, Jello Biafra [dead kennedys], and more. You know, as exciting as it is to meet people who've been there and are making it, it'll never quite beat the feeling of standing up and supporting acts that are still battling for a place in the industry. I prefer the unsigned and underground acts, the creativity in the underground is just phenominal, which is why I support it and contribute as much to it as I can to keep it alive. Without the underground, we've got nothing new and exciting to look forward to - even the bigger names will tell you that!
