in Kungsträdgården Stockholm June 19!
We will honour Ted with a wonderful concert with a lot
of good
swedish musicians and members of the Ted Gärdestad
Society.
The show starts 9 pm and will run for about 2 hours.
We want you to be there with us. So don´t forget to tell

Ted Gärdestad (February 18, 1956 – June 22, 1997 in
Sollentuna, Sweden) was a Swedish singer, composer
and musician.He made himself a name as
a 15 year old musician and has together
with his brother Kenneth Gärdestad written a number of
popular Swedish songs, such as the hits "Jag vill ha en
egen måne", "Satellit" and "Sol, vind och vatten".
In the 1970´s he was a big star in Sweden.
For a period of his time he was involved with the
Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh religion, by some considered
a cult. At this time severe mental problems got
apparent. In the media he was wrongly pointed out
as a suspect in the investigation of the assassination
of Olof Palme, an accusation that hit him very hard.
His death in 1997 is generally considered suicide,
by running in front of a train. His brother
Kenneth has later told, in the press and later
also in a book, about Ted's mental problems
during the last years of his life.
1997 we started the Ted Gardestad Society and in 2000
we did a memory project for Ted in Kungsträdgården
Stockholm
and had an opening ceremony with Teds fans
his family and friends. We also enjoyed his music
performed by his old band Rock´n Roll Machine
with a couple of other swedish artists.
We use to traditionally have this event every year.
