Books, naturally. (Duh.) Music. Good food, stimulating conversation and a nice red wine doesn't hurt.
Readers. Writers. People who have something to say and say it with interest.OH. Are we talking famous people?Oprah--To find out how the most powerful woman in the world still manages to connect so well to the masses. J. K. Rowling--She's an expert in plot. Who wouldn't want to pick her brain? The Dalai Lama--He represents peace and happiness. I'd love to have as much faith as he does.
I'm all over the place with what I like for music. Anything from alternative to rock, but I don't like rap that defaces women or twangy country music.
I love a good movie. Again, it's impossible to pick a favorite. Plus, I'm generally satisfied with any movie if popcorn is involved.
The Office and Grey's Anatomy hands down. The writing is tight, the acting fabulous, and the hot doctors on GA make me wish I could don a hospital johnnie just to hang out with them. The Office is more about subtle, everyday humor, but I'm digging it. Did you know that the eyes are the groin of the head? See what you can learn from TV?!
I read and love too many to pick a favorite, but the last books to blow me away was Nancy Werlin's "The Rules of Survival" and Cormac McCarthy's "The Road" -- Absolutely awesome.
It was the esteemed Martin Luther King Jr. who suggested that the measure of a man is determined not by where he stands in times of comfort, but where he stands in times of adversity. Heroes are people who do what's right, even when it doesn't serve their own interests, even when it is hard and comes with a price. How can you not admire anyone who does that?
