Belle & Sebastian, School House Rock, Electric Company, Sesame Street, Ween, Modest Mouse,They Might Be Giants, Magnetic Fields, the Smiths, Cyndi Lauper, The Monkees, Can, Pavement, Killian Murphy, Of Montreal, Neutral Milk Hotel, V.Majestic, The Beatles, XTC, Ziggy periiod Bowie, the soundtrack to 28 Days Later, For Stars, the Beta Band, Public Enemy, De La Soul, The Carpenters, Neil Jordan, and so much more.....His:
Earliest influences were Four Seasons LPs, Turtles Greatest Hits V.1, Associations "Greatest Hits", "Hums of the" Lovin' Spoonful LP, the Monkees "More of the Monkees" LP, The Raiders "Collage" LP and the Beatles 45's Lady Madonna, I Am The Walrus, She Loves You, Outsiders 45 you Gotta Look, T-Rex Bang a Gong, Derek & the Dominoes Layla, Badfinger's Day after Day. Then in 3rd grade i saw the movie HELP! That was it. It was pretty much all the Beatles and The Monkees after that until Middle School. Soon came Cheap Trick, The Guess Who Barry Manilo, The Who, The Records, The Cars, Van Halen, Led Zeppelin, Rush, Yes, ELP, Queen and eventually up to Nik Kershaw, Tears for Fears, OMD, XTC, Pink Floyd, Bowie (up to Ziggy, wasn't big on the Eno stuff, then Glass Spider on) By this time i moved from basement to band, due to my future wifes insistance, from there i'd be influenced by everything thrown in front of me from Funk to Prog to Reggae to Tropicalia to Dub to Electronica to Folk to Pop to Punk to New Wave blah blah blah and so on. If I hear it and I like it.....I'm influenced. I will admit, i've never been bitten by the Jazz bug. I don't know what's wrong with me. I certainly can appreciate "Kinda Blue" for background music, but i've never been sucked in. So give me time, i ain't dead yet.
Sounds Like: We sound like we lock ourselves in the garage and turn on the 2 track and start recording. Sometimes we keep it completely stripped down and bare, other times we take it and add to the basic 2 track recording and expound away into the night. I'm sure there are hundreds of bands we sound just like and we would like to meet them and have a tea. Find us.........we're here for the listening.
