Claudio “claude†mate was born 17 th december 1980 in nocera close to naples in the south of italy. He was 11 years old when started to dance with his sister the first underground records & tapes ..at 15 years old he was already a vinyl junkie , spending his time ( also money) in a collection of rare & classic vinyls from london ,new york , chicago , detroit also berlin .during this period he got interest for djing. For him the dj was like a person who was doing the right thing in the name of music. at 16 years old, he started to play for his mates in some crazy school parties as dj claude . his djing got good interest around, so he got the first residencies in different clubs of his small county. claudio was not much happy how the movement was going on, so he focused his time more in records shop also as club promoter , trying to give an help to the good music as the people who knew him .around the end of 90’s in italy something was changing , people like stefanogreppi & mas collective (the trio called mad drivers) were the piooners of a new kind of sound (hard , deep , tech, tribal , trancey , prog, minimal , so whatever without a commercial feeling ). During a party claudio did the first meeting with sandro russo ( mas collective) . After that night sandro introduced claudio as soon as possible to his parnter dj andreino and stefano greppi as well.
It was the year 2003 when the mate’s ( crazy claude ma-te for his friends) world was born .... claudio was already in screen and mo-do crew dealing and taking care stuff for both labels ... 2004 has been the year of new projects in different ways ..after many months of hard work in screen recordings , stefano asked to claudio to join as partner as head of a&r in screen recordings uk limited , a new music company based in london ..claudio during this year did another important meeting, he met claudio basile ( screen secretary) one of the most important italian djs based in london , more a bro than friend ..2004 was also the year of his first studio productions . he started a project with cassino & laben under the moniker “ arenokâ€, (the trio are still collaborating) also claudio made some collaboration with neapolitan duo j&s projects . today at only 26 years old claudio “claude†mate is one of the new face of underground music scene . his music is the perfect reflection of his productions as djing . it has an unique kind of sound, it is something like electronic, experimental , dub , with a deep feeling also getting a progressive attitude ,he says just music for open minds not much at all.claudio is already signed with labels like armada , global underground ,sog, screen, also he got the like from labels and producers such as manuel gottsching ( his cover of e2e4 called m2 g4 has been acclamed by manuel himself) wavemusic nyc , beatpharmacy , sasha , hooj choons , traum , armin van buuren, perry oneil , anthony pappa , markus schultz , shinedoe , matthew dekay , mbc, the list could be on .. As dj he played with people like rui da silva , anthony pappa, ozgur can , matthew dekay , dave clarke , moshic , james wilson , flavio vecchi , pasta boys his friends stefano greppi & sandro russo ,claudio basile and many more.
