On 2005 January, the musicians Sergio Jr.(Lead Vocal) and Marlon Bazerra (Electric and acoustic guitar, backing vocals) met each other on a relationship website named Orkut, after announcing at the same time, looking for musicians who play country music, starting the BlackSmith formation.After many talks, they realized that they had the same ideas and objective, so they started another research looking for other musicians, and so they found Luiz Fernando Simões (Bass) and Leandro Pompilio (Drums).At the first rehearsals, they felt the necessity of some reformulations. César Benzoni (Acoustic Guitar, Mandolin, Harmonica, Dobro and Backing vocals) and Guto Viegas (Keyboards and Backing Vocals) joined the group. Both of them identified themselves with the proposal of Blacksmith band at the first moment. Guto was the only musician who was not found at the Orkut website, but in another website where there are musicians of all kinds of Music.After 70 hours of rehearsals during 28 saturdays, with almost 7 months of dedication, BlackSmith was ready!On September 23, 2005, we made our first show, and since that, BlackSmith Country Band is in the Brazilian country scenery , as one of the most important band when we talk about Country Music.We’ve been considered the revelation band by some critics of this kind of music, being praised wherever we go. By this way we do try to reward with a lot of energy and happiness and also with a flawless repertoire.The last musician to join BlackSmith was Anderson Dutra (fiddle) and he made his first live rehearsal on January 17, 2006. Guess where we found him? Laughter...What does BlackSmith do?BlackSmith plays Country music stressing the New Country. The New Country is a crossing of the regional Country Music with the POP music from the big cities.
