Brad Hogarth was born in Ontario, Canada, but then quickly moved to Louisiana and then to Texas, where he started to play the trumpet in 6th grade. In intermediate and high school, Brad lead the trumpet section in marching and concert band, where he had performances all over the US. Brad's performance experience includes everything from playing with and soloing infront of orchestras, bands, and other classical groups, to 4 years of allstate in high school, to playing trumpet, trombone and keyboards, arranging and leading various rock, funk, ska, latin, jazz, and multi-genre back-up bands in Texas.
Now Brad is studying with world renowned trumpeter and pedagogue James Thompson, completing a Double Major in Trumpet Performance and Music Education at The Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY. He also spent Spring 2007 in Freiburg, Germany at the Hochschule für Musik Freiburg studying with famous composer and trumpeter Anthony Plog. Brad regularly plays with many various ensembles and groups at Eastman and also plays in various cities in Texas with Houston ska band 'The Quinns' (mySpace.com/thequinns). Brad's goals are to play and teach music for the rest of his life.
