I've been lucky. Very lucky. Lucky to have a mom who would drive me to school everyday while blasting Chicago, Huey Lewis and the News, Fleetwood Mac, or Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Lucky to have a few friends in high school who taught me how to play the guitar. Lucky to have gotten that first taste of performing in bars when I was 18 years old. Lucky to have lived in Nashville for a number of years and be introduced to the "business" side of music. Lucky to have a family and group of friends who have supported me through it all. Lucky to be able to now travel the country, write and record my own songs, and to have people respond to my music in such a positive way. But I don't think it's all luck because I still feel very passionate about making music. And the passion is what makes me want to create music and learn how to create on other instruments and in other fashions that I'm not accustomed to. Believe me, it's not the money.
