As a vocal major, Shannon received her Performance Diploma at Malaspina University College (Nanaimo, BC) in Jazz Studies. During her time at Malaspina she performed and soloed frequently with the Malaspina Choir, the Vocal Jazz Ensemble and several first- rate jazz combos. Shannon has also expanded her experience through performing in several roles in TV/film, gospel choirs and musical theatre productions including Titanic, The New Musical, Dracula...The Musical?, and The Rocky Horror Show. After graduating from Malaspina, Shannon fronted different bands with styles ranging from jazz to hard rock and soon she began to write her own music. This led to an opportunity to study songwriting in Tennessee (USA) with industry leaders and to work as a session singer in both Nashville and Memphis. One of the highlights of this trip was the chance to perform on Beale Street and witness the sensational gospel and electrifying blues music. It was at this point Shannon realized without a doubt that her own musical niche was blues, rock and soul. Inspired by this realization and determined to get ahead in the music industry, she returned to Canada with a much stronger focus to succeed as an artist.Since moving to Calgary AB, Shannon has appeared in Calgary Living Magazine. She fronts a dynamite 6-piece showband that plays regularly for casinos, clubs, corporate functions and fundraising events. As well, she works as both a fitness and a vocal instructor. Creatively diverse and willing to take risks, this multi-faceted singer looks forward to recording, promoting and touring in the very near future.
