Grayson Boucher was born and raised in Keizer, Oregon, a small city outside of the states capitol Salem, Oregon. While growing up his main influence was his father, the man responsible for putting the basketball in his hands. After many years of practicing in the driveway, youth leagues and AAU basketball Grayson developed his game and became quite skilled.
While skilled he always was undersized among his pears and teammates. This allowed him not to be given any shortcuts or shown much love by his highschool coaches. Grayson found himself still on the junior varsity team as a junior in highschool while he attended McNary Highschool. The following year he wanted to be able to lead a team as a starter so he could have a decent shot at playin college basketball. So the following year he transfered to a small private school in Salem called Salem Academy where he would find himself the starting point guard spot and end out the year 1 vote away from league MVP and was an All-State selection averaging 20 points and 7 assists.
After highschool, the road didn't get any smoother. Grayson had limited offers to play any college basketball so he found himself walking on at the local community college. During Grayson's freshmen year at Chemeketa Community College he was allowed limited playing time because he was a walk-on and all scholarships were given out before they new anything of him. During the off-season at Chemeketa, Grayson worked out harder than he ever did in the weight room and on the court and made the biggest improvement of his career up to that point. He credits his coach David Abderhalden to playing a huge roll in taking his game to another level.
The following year he was set to come back to Chemeketa as a starter but due to the famous start he had with And 1, his future was undecided. At the end of the And 1 Mixtape Tour in 2003 Grayson was put on the map and given the name 'Professor' by tour MC Duke Tango because that summer Duke said he was "schooling people on the court". After a full summer of being on ESPN and noticing the popularity of the And 1 Mixtape Tour and ESPN tv show 'Streetball', Grayson thought that the tour is where his future was at as opposed to going back to school. From then on the 'Professor' has become a household name, especially among basketball fans everywhere around the world. He has been able to play in about 20 countries outside of the United States and has been featured on 6 seasons of the show "Streetball" on ESPN for the last 5 years. Grayson credits his success to endless hours in the gym, loving the game of basketball, and never giving up on a dream.
While being signed to And 1 Grayson has also ventured off into other things as welll. He played for the Salem Stampede in the IBL(Intercontinental Basketball League) for the 2006 season and is curently playing for the Atlanta Krunk in the CBA(Continental Basketball Association) for this season. He also started a career in acting, starring as the lead role in the movie 'Ball Don't Lie' set to be released later this year. He also had a small roll in the comedy 'Semi-Pro' starring Will Ferrell, which will be in theaters february 29th. Grayson 'the Professor' Boucher is looking to expand his acting career and professional basketball career while also being contracted under And 1 and playing in all the tour events.
