About Me

The Old Monastery is situated in Berry Drive just off Colley End Road in Paignton. The monastery was built in 1908 and became a fully licensed pub in May 2006. The pub is run by a small but very dedicated team of people, who are always up for a laugh, and are nearly always up on their nights off for a drink!
We are the cheapest non Weatherspoon's pub in Paignton and possibly the whole of Torbay. With beer at £1.80 a pint and Spirits and mixers at £1.50 you can see why.The Old Monastery has many pub game teams and we are always on the look out for extra team mates. We have dartboards, a pool table and a skittle alley and are currently looking to create the following teams. A darts B team, a pool B team and a skittles A and B team. If you wold like to try out for any of these teams pop in for details.
We also have facilities for playing Texas Holdem Poker. We have a poker table with a professional 10,000 piece poker chip set. We aim to start up a regular poker night in the near future but until then poker is available anytime, just gather some friends and come on over we'll set you up a game.
Children are welcome at The Old Monastery as long as they are accompanied by an adult. We do not have a separate family area for them but we do have a selection of games to keep the kids happy
We also have a function room available for private parties, wedding receptions etc. Prices start at £35 for room hire, pop in and ask for more details.
