The Pitch
Robert's an L.A. native who's been in the music biz for 20 years, beginning with legendary indie label IRS records, REM's original home, in 1987. He spent time at Bug Music and Virgin Records before relocating to greener pastures, Kansas City, to finish his degree in Broadcasting in 1992. He joined the 89.3fm KCUR staff in 1995 as a jazz programmer, creating Take Five. Robert went on to become their Assistant Program Director and Music Director, and is an Instructor in Liberal Arts at the Kansas City Art Institute. He's also a member of the Advisory Board for the syndicated radio program "American Routes" where he serves as a music consultant. Robert moved to the commercial end of the spectrum in 2007 taking Sonic Spectrum to 96.5 The Buzz in Kansas City and partners with www.PresentMagazine.com for the Official Sonic Spectrum podcast available every Friday.
