Five Defy

blah blah blahblah

About Me

Stranded upon an island after a terrible wind capsized our small fishing vessel, Five Defy strapped together our acoustic instruments and paddled to the mainland using only drum sticks and will power. Once we dried off, we began singing our songs for small crowds who have since started bringing their friends. Betwix the band members we have something like 60 years of musical experience including touring, recording, songwriting, and getting wasted after shows. Our sound is complex. Violin and mandolin shoot melodies all along the horizons while bass and drums create a solid footing for the sea-weary travellers. Add in some energetic vocals (sometimes all five of us are singing our hearts out on stage), some keys and synths, guitars, and thought-provoking but not overly self-involved lyrics, and you have the jist of Five Defy.We are playing shows, saving money when we can, and hoping to record something of power and beauty in the near future. Until then, you'll have to come and try us on for size at a venue near you!
