Having achieved critical acclaim for their debut album Country Falls and wowed audiences world wide with their hypnotic live sets, Husky Rescue return with the second single release from their forthcoming second album - Ghost Is Not Real - which is scheduled for release in January 2007. ‘Nightless Night’ sees Husky Rescue take their unique blend of widescreen electronica and fragile folk into more up-tempo than usual – a rocking ode to country living pitched somewhere between Blondie and The Primitives.
Husky Rescue, the brainchild of musical maestro Marko Nyberg, first entered the public consciousness with a series of (now highly collectable) vinyl releases on Catskills records. Hailing from Finland, their blend of lush melodies and entrancing soundscapes struck a chord with the public and the press alike. As demand grew, Husky Rescue transformed from a studio project to a full live band, fronted by the distinctive ethereal vocals of Reeta-Leena Korhola. The band have since toured widely across Europe and the USA, having recently returned from America as part of the Lollapalooza tour (to see the level of excitement they are generated out there check out http://www.lollapalooza.com/emerging.asp)
Whilst their debut album Country Falls was held together by a soothing ambience, Ghost Is Not Real, is carried along by a much more melancholy mood altogether. This edgier sound is gently hinted at by previous single ‘Diamonds In The Sky', and ‘Nightless Night’ with the single providing the perfect appetiser for the delights to come. As with previous single 'Diamonds In The Sky', ‘Nightless Night’ will be backed by a top drawer selection of remixes – this time from Fink, Justus Köhncke and Black Grass.
Husky Rescue are due to tour the UK in early 2007, full dates to be announced shortly.
