About Me

This project is an exploration of the bedroom and self. In the songs, one can find pieces of me found agreeable and then exaggerated in an attempt at permanence. It is an honour to be uploaded in this largely digital age, for when I'm dead and gone, downloading files off of the internet will still be top choice in comparison to rifling grandfather's old musical tapes inside the musty attic, and if I discover the meaning of reverence at all, my output will reflect it and that poor child will have to hack and emit their discomfort row after row. So for the sake of posterity....zap zap zap. I was born in Fort Myers Florida in June of 1984. The sign of Gemini might explain all moments of duplicity and irrational thought, though sometimes the payoff of impulsive behavior is too sweet to give credit away. There was very little musical stimulation growing up and my Father gave up the ghost at eighteen, packing away his Gretsch jazz guitar until his son uncovered it and began to flick the strings. I took piano lessons at the age of eight but soon replaced it for soda pop and fantasy. This world of illusions wouldn't end until the drudgery of high school haulted and I was crestfallen enough to have a different perspective. By sixteen I began playing guitar in various groups around town, learning about musical expression and makeshift venues. This was a time when feedback was so intense from cheap equipment that it was hard to tell the style of music being played. By nineteen frustration from aimlessness brought me to an unfamiliar door in Cape Coral Florida, where I joined in on the final stages of a recording called, "The Neverending Daylight E.P." by Dreams Die First. This began my long partnership with vocalist Leo Ashline. DDF never had another release and was put into the ground. Despite any shortcomings the new confluence of sound between Leo and I was worth sustaining to see the emergence of, A Soft Perversion (myspace.com/asoftperversion). This project continues on and relishes in the complexity of angular and layered pop. In 2005 we recorded an E.P. titled "The Sensualists" and are looking forward to the full lengh, "Imaginary Lovers", which will be released in 2007. Malevolent Music is what we in poverty call lo-fi. It is my best attempt to get personal songs heard with whatever instruments and technology are available. If anyone is interested in the sounds found here and would like to collaborate on this or any other projects, contact me.
