About Me
Singer/songwriter Stefan Storace started playing drums at the age of 10 and grew up in a musical family. His father Daniel Storace a jazz musician for over 50 years has played with many talented and well known artiest from around the world. This was a great inspiration for Stefan to pursue a musical path not only as a drummer but also as a singer/songwriter.After graduating high school Stefan left Los Angeles for the University of Santa Barbara and little did he know he was walking into the powerful and tight knit music community of Santa Barbara, California. He played drums with various projects from singer/songwriters to jazz ensembles to rock bands. Leadhead, Old Man (briefly), Tina Sicre and the very popular Red River Gumbo were just a few of the bands he played, traveled and recorded with over the 7 years he was in Santa Barbara. He also watched several friends in bands from Santa Barbara get recording contracts from Toad and the Wet Sprocket, Lagwagon, Ugly Kid Joe, Dishwalla, Summercamp, Snot, Ultra-spank just to name a few. This is also where he met musician, friend and producer Dave Fortman.Stefan has always been the driving force in every band he has been in not only as a drummer, but also as an arranger, songwriter and bandleader. After leaving Santa Barbara to move back to Los Angeles he hooked up with singer/songwriter Jasan Radford (currently with Onesidezero) and formed Bluprnt. Bluprnt, Bird3 and Buva (Tom Wolfe) are just some of the amazing and talented singer/songwriter he has performed, traveled and recorded with in recent years.Stefan had a bigger musical dream than just playing drums. He had an incredible amount of music in his head that needed to be expressed. For many years Stefan helped many talented songwriters write and arrange their music, which gave him an incredible knack for making songs come alive. He then decided to do something about it and formed Pow Wow.For the next year Stefan went into hibernation and just wrote music and recorded demos in his home studio playing most of the instruments himself. He then hooked up with his good friend and producer Dave Fortman in Covington, Louisiana. “I remember when I called Dave from California and told him I have bunch of songs that I want you to recordâ€, he said, “ come on down and let’s start trackingâ€. Dave Fortman has produced and/or mixed a vast array of projects from several different musical genres. Dave’s past projects include Evanescence’s Grammy-award winning album FALLEN:
Mudvayne’s latest release, LOST AND FOUND; and both of Superjoint Ritual’s albums. He has also worked with Charlotte Church, Boy Sets Fire, 12 Stones, Crowbar, Eyehategod, Suplecs, Soilent Green, The Cadillac Tramps and the Mystick Krewe of Clearlight. This first Pow Wow CD was recorded and mixed by Dave Fortman in Covington, Louisiana at Balance Recording Studio, which is also the home of Nocturnal Records. The energetic, melodic, grooving, radio friendly and catchy music of Pow Wow is ready to open your mind and heart...This profile was edited with MySpace Profile Editor MySpace Profile Editor
