After graduating from Northwestern in 2000, I moved to Los Angeles to work as a writer and comedian. In 2003, I was cast in Boom Chicago , and I moved to Amsterdam for almost three years.
Dutch people are intense.
I've been back in Los Angeles for about two years. I am a comedian at UCB LA and I.O. West, and an alumni of The Groundlings Sunday Company and Ultimate Improv. I've worked with Improv Everywhere and done some stuff on MadTV.
I have been asked why I'm not registered as a MySpace Comedy Account. This is because I'm also an an Editor at Geek Monthly, a nerd-lifestyle publication, and Play , a video-games magazine. I've also written for ActionButton, a game review site that eats teeth for breakfast, and The Gamer's Quarter , a "New Games Journalism" publication.
For some reason when I mention this to people in passing, they always respond with, "So, like, do you play videogames?" The answer is yes. I love to play video games.
So, I don't have a comedy account because I'm a comedian and a Video Games Journalist. I love both equally, but not as much as each other. I would give up everything if someone gave me a grant to travel the world and write a few novels. And I'd drop that in a heartbeat to do some comedy or video-gaming.
I am driven and melancholy. I respect honesty and strong opinions. I like debate, poker, and alcohol. I want to be Richard Dawkins, Woody Allen, and Marla Singer. And I believe we should destroy the moon if we can't learn how to tame it.
