About Me

It was in 1980 at Window Rock Fair that the Klagetoh Swingers hosted its first impromptu Navajo Nation singing and dancing contest. The members out of their own pockets donated monies to pay the winners of the dance contest, which was held at Annie Wauneka pavilion behind the veterinary clinic. The Navajo traditional of singing and dancing is the revitalization of the Navajo culture. Today, there are over three hundred singing groups across the reservation. The Klagetoh Swingers host numerous benefit social song and dances each year to help raise funds to defray the cost of many different hardship that our Dine' people encounter. The Klagetoh Swingers are "The Cream of the Crop". The name Klagetoh Swingers originated in Klagetoh, Arizona in the late 1970's at the pre-school. The name Klagetoh Swingers remain as a challenge. A few members are the original members, some have passed on others have separated from the group.
