Welcome to my space.......

About Me

I try to seize the day...enjoy each moment of life because we never know how long we have here. If an opportunity presents itself, I like to take it. I believe in living for the day, but I also know that every action and deed has a reaction and consequence. Life is short so I try to get the most out of it. Carpe diem!
I love animals....especially cats. I have a 6 year old cat named Lucy. She is my little "pride and joy". I like to travel, and I really enjoy swimming and being out in the sun...whether it's in my backyard, at a swimming pool, lake or ocean. I've been white water river rafting with my cousin and friend on the White Salmon River in Washington...it was a blast! It was awesome and so much fun!
Although I live in Texas, I am a huge fan of the New York Yankees. I love them! They are an excellent team, and I've seen them play in person at Arlington Park in Texas. I enjoy watching TV, listening to music mostly classic rock and roll, pop and 80's rock. I am on myspace looking for friends and other like minded individuals. I also enjoy fine dining, watching short track speed skating...I can't ice skate but I can roller skate and roller blade. I love the Canadian short track team and Apolo Anton Ohno. They all rock!
I believe that we get back what we give out to others. I try to send positive energy out by way of a good attitude, random acts of kindness, and treating others like I want to be treated. It's simple really....I truly believe nice does matter. Nice guys and girls don't finish last.... in the long run they win because kindness ultimately trumps rudeness and meanness. love layout powered by HOT FreeLayouts.com / MyHotComments

My Interests

^-^ Cats...but first and foremost my cat named Lucy....she is like a child to me...I love her! Also, Short Track Speed Skating, The New York Yankees, TaeBo, Music, Dining, and Traveling!.. ..
Above is a picture of my cat, Lucy, who is sitting in the computer chair with a bib on...she likes the computer:
*********************Below is Lucy at her birthday party. She didn't pop any balloons and she kept her hat on for awhile. She didn't get to eat any cake, but she did have a can of tuna to celebrate... ..

I'd like to meet:

I would like to meet people who are genuine, decent, honest, respectful to others and themselves, down to earth, and who have great attitudes, personalities and character. I do NOT like haters, liars, cheaters, bullies, snobs, schemers, or anyone who doesn't value life.***************************************(This is so true). As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let you down probably will. You will have your heart broken probably more than once and it's harder every time. You'll break hearts too, so remember how it felt when yours was broken. You'll fight with your best friend. You'll blame a new love for things an old one did. You'll cry because time is passing too fast, and you'll eventually lose someone you love.So take too many pictures, laugh too much, and love like you've never been hurt because every sixty seconds you spend upset is a minute of happiness you'll never get back. Don't be afraid that your life will end, be afraid that it will never begin.

Music:

Classic rock and roll....80's rock...some metal...some pop...groups like AC/DC, Van Halen, Poison, The Eagles, Sammy Hagar, Journey, Billy Idol, U2, The Cult, Metallica. I also like Kelly Clarkson, Prince, and Bryan Adams.

Movies:

The Ultimate Gift, The Pursuit of Happyness, Because of Winn Dixie, Fried Green Tomatoes, Hope Floats, Steel Magnolias and many others......

Television:

Army Wives, Dancing with the Stars, American Idol, Saturday Night Live, Still Standing, Frasier********************

Books:

Anything by Stephen King and Edgar Allan PoeDesiderata - by Max EhrmannGo placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and the ignorant, they too have their story. Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter; for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time. Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism. Be yourself. Especially, do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love, for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is perennial as the grass. Take kindly to the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be, and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul. With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.

Heroes:

My mother, Bette, who has battled Lupus and Myasthenia Gravis for 10 years and is a 2 and a half year survivor of lung cancer (she was not a smoker so it was really a shock when she was diagnosed)....she inspires me...she never gives up.....she is a very tough, strong, and remarkable woman!
