VOTE FOR ME ON THE DJ LIST
Music has always been the driving force in my life, I've been playing out for over ten years, and have a broad appreciation of music. I used to just go fer solid Techno sets, but I now enjoy playing a varied set with inflections, tangents and diversions from a wide base of genres and styles.
My first turntable experiences were given to me by a close friend Matt Lovell, who sparked the chain of events that have forged the direction that my interests in music have taken. Two deck's, some Happy Hardcore and a mixer were lent and the rest is history!
My interest in the club scene was starting to wain arround 1998 - so I started to look for the harder edge..... Club nights had started to go down the 'fluffier' side of Techno and the crowds were getting less friendly (or I was getting older ;o) ....... Somehow I knew there was more out there and subsequently found the SquatParty and the FreeParty scene!
I then started out mixing at Squat parties in London, almost by accident, by helping out various rig owners to keep music playing in the late hours of the afternoon! After that the bug bit me and I've been buying 'tekno' style music ever since!!!
Now I've started to get into my DJ toys and 3/4 deck sets which are more challenging and enjoyable..... Playing at the Purple Turtle most fridays has enabled me to experiment more with what I play and has proven invaluable to understanding crowd reactions.
I have also forged a mixer friendship with Jamie C from TOL, we play a high octane energetic back-2-back sets. Every time we play together, we both feed off each others energy and enjoyment!
I currently am promoting the Technosense Collective and the related events that we organise. We have a number of small club and bar events that we are currrently running:
Fridays @ The Roundabout Pub - High Wycombe
Saturdays @ The Vortex Inn - Fairford
Sundays @ The Purple Turtle - Reading
