Il gruppo si è formato nel mese di Dicembre del 2001 ed ha raggiunto la prima line-up completa a Gennaio del 2002. Dopo avere svolto alcuni live-acts abbiamo realizzato un primo cd-promo, a budget zero, nell'home studio di Hjagstad ( il nostro primo bassista ). A Marzo del 2003 abbiamo registrato un secondo cd-promo, intitolato "HIEMS VENIT- Prise the Triumph of Heresy", presso gli ACME RECORDING STUDIO di Raiano (AQ). L'utilizzo di uno studio professionale ci ha permesso di ottenere un suono più potente e definito pur conservando quell'impatto grezzo e primitivo che è il trademark del nostro sound. Il cd è stato inviato prevalentemente alle case discografiche presso le quali ha avuto un buon responso. Nel frattempo abbiamo avuto un cambio di line-up, infatti Hjagstad è stato sostituito da Schatten. Tutti i componenti del gruppo provengono da precedenti esperienze musicali (my dark sin,essenza, blood stained host, thy gate beyond, dictatoreyes) A Marzo del 2004 siamo tornati agli ACME RECORDING STUDIO per registrare un nuovo promo-cd intitolato “L’INVERNO DEI MORTI”, con l’intento di farlo pubblicare (ri-masterizzato) come mini-cd qualora un’etichetta si fosse dimostrata interssata. Anche questa volta rimaniamo soddisfatti del suono che abbiamo ottenuto, perfettamente in linea con la nostra “filosofia musicale”. Dopo aver firmato un contratto di 2 anni ( e 2 album ) con la BEAUTY OF PAIN abbiamo registrato 5 nuove tracce ( sempre agliACME STUDIO ) che sommate ai 5 brani de L’INVERNO DEI MORTI formano la track list del nostro cd d’esordio , intitolato IL MALE PRIMITIVO. Dopo il recente allontanamento dalla band di Valech ( il cantante ), gli OBSCURA NOX HIBERNIS decidono di rimanere un trio , con Valdes anche alla voce.The band was born in December 2001 and the final line-up was settled in January 2002. In June 2002 we have recorded a first demo, at budget zero, at the home studio of Hjagstad (our first bass player). In March 2003 we have recorded a second demo , named "HIEMS VENIT- Prise the Triumph of Heresy",at ACME RECORDING STUDIO in Raiano(AQ). For this CD we have obtained a sound more powerfull and definite but equally an impact raw and primitive that is the trademark of our sound. During this year we had a change of line-up:Hjagstad leaves the band and he was replaced by Schatten. Everyone of us come from previously musical experience ( My Dark Sin, Essenza, Blood Stained Host, Thy Gate Beyond, Dictatoreyes). In March 2004 we have recorded a new promo, named “L’INVERNO DEI MORTI” (THE WINTER OF DEADS),with the intention to include this material into our first full lenght album. After the deal with BEAUTY OF PAIN productions we have recorded five new tracks (ever at the ACME RECORDING STUDIO) that added to the five tracks of”L’INVERNO DEI MORTI” form our debut CD, named “IL MALE PRIMITIVO”. After the recent removal of Valech ( the singer ) from the band , OBSCURA NOX HIBERNIS are a trio, with Valdes also at the vocals
