About Me

the root cellar is a volunteer, collectively-run, non-hierarchical space in New York's Hudson valley. we're located at bard college in the basement of mcvickar (behind stone row).

The Root Cellar is home to a vegan cafe, offering fair-trade coffee, hot chocolate, teas, and assorted vegan snacks and baked goods. It is also home to an infoshop, which is comprised of the book lending library and the zine library (one of the largest in the northeast!). the Root Cellar also operates as a cooperative meeting place for radical groups, a community arts space, and occasional music/performance venue. we also have wireless internet.

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN PLAYING SHOWS: We can only do loud amplified shows Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night. Anything else can happen any night of the week. Also, we are closed from the middle of May to the start of September. Sorry, and thanks for the interest!

My Interests

being completely student-run, rad music, zines, good books, self-sufficiency, diy, coffee, tea, fun, keepin' it real
