It's taken all I had and now it's all I have......

About Me

There is no band but there have been several. Nowadays it's just me and a large group of friends that play alot of different instruments. I'm a singer/songwriter that used to be in a couple really cool bands. Along the way, I've met alot of really talented musicians who have been lured to my basement and forced to record tracks with me. I still love to get out and sing when the opportunity presents itself but what I really love is writing and recording. I have a home studio and that's where this happens. Nothing ground breaking goin' on. Just a place where I can keep my mind right which is no easy task. I've been blessed with a great circle of friends and family that allow me to do what I love. I really appreciate what everyone does to help me do what I do. Over the years these people have afforded me their support and I have accumulated alot of music that I am truly proud of. I know its not technically perfect. I know that I am not the ideal singer. I know that alot of things could be better. I also know that I like it. Alot of other people have told me that they like it, too. I hope that you like it. If you don't please turn someone onto it that might. Is that too much to ask? ............................................................ ...................................................

Band Members: Me and anybody who wants to make some music............ I guess that I have neglected to mention the actual names of those people that have made my musical career possible. First and foremost I must mention the first guys that ever actually noticed that I may have a touch of talent and that would be a toss up between Ed Belote and John Herring. Both of these guys are excellent musicians that deserve much more than the bizness has given them. John, who is the most exciting guitar player that I have ever had the pleasure of sharing the stage with put me in the first band that I was ever in after hearing me sing on a loading dock in Newark, Delaware. That band was called "Close Enuff" and to this day was the funnest band I've ever been in. It was also the best band I was ever in. I'll never be able to repay John for the confidence, showmanship, and friendship that he has given to me over the last 15 years but I can promise that he has a "Brother" for life or as long as he'll have me. I can't mention that band without also thanking Tom and Jim Ross, Tom Cole, and Scott Howard for making this one of the most exciting and memorable times of my life. The first song I ever wrote was called "Her Wings". It happened on a Sunday morning at about 6 AM. It took about 45 minutes to write and I was so scared of losing the melody because I could barely play a radio, let alone a guitar, that I called Ed Belote up at 7 AM and begged him to come over and chord it out for me. Just like a best friend should, he grabbed his acoustic and headed over to my house. 15 minutes later it was a done deal and I was officially a songwriter. Since then, over our 20 year friendship, Ed and I have collaborated on alot of songs together and plan to keep on keepin' on until someone steps in and stops the madness!!! He is another brother from another mother that has and continues to make my life better. Two other friends that I must mention are Mike Gilley and Tom Armstrong. Mike is one of the most talented musicians I know. He loves to tapdance outside the box and has helped me create some of the best songs I've ever written. Just like John, Mike and I have an exellent working relationship when it comes to writing songs. He can take my southern roots and update them into songs that work for any era and give them a pop edge that can work into any genre that he chooses. Bottom line, he's one of the most talented people I know and has a melodic vision that I would stack up against any musician I've ever met. I wish that we could work together more than we do but life has a way of getting in our way, I guess. Last but by no means least, Tom Armstrong. A graduate of Scheffield Music that has graciously and painstakingly taught me almost everything I know about the art of recording and mixing music. Without his help and guidance I wouldn't be able to find the record button, let alone do all the stuff I know how to do now. In my opinion, I'll never hold a candle to the potential that he has but I'm trying like hell to get there. Not only has he been a great teacher for me but he is also one hell of a friend. I consider him, just as I do everyone that I have mentioned in this section to be some of the best friends I could ever hope to have. When I said that I have been blessed by the people that have surrounded me since I got mixed up in this whole music thing I meant it. I hope what I've had to say about each of these individuals helps you understand that statement. As far music goes, without them I would have never been anything. With them, I'm still a nobody, but I'm a nobody with some killer tunes ................. deeply appreciated guys ................. THANK YOU!!!!!
