Holla, to this intergalactic star! CHIKI is NO 'space cadet.' She knows exactly what she's doing and through her music, CHIKI shows everyone what she is about. CHIKI has never let the world put her in a box and thinks life is 1% what you have and 99% what you do with it. She was born with a fearless sense of creative exploration. At the age of five, she was in a school production of the Wizard of Oz. CHIKI was a “Munchkin†and took one look at the girl playing Dorothy and said, “I’m going to be THAT part next year!†From then on, she excelled in most art forms in school especially in writing, music and theater and still maintains today an eclectic music palette. CHIKI was also an honors student and known for liking a good debate! Always a perfectionist, CHIKI further studied voice, dance and acting formally. From there, CHIKI was sought out by Pop and Hip-Hop/R&B girl groups in the area; several having major label interest. At the age of seventeen, while most her friends were thinking of their proms and graduation, CHIKI was busy writing and directing her own original full-length musical. Fusing both her loves at the time, it combined Hip-Hop and Musical Theater. CHIKI entitled it “Chill on Broadwayâ€. With a strong love of songwriting, she has never stopped working on creating her biggest masterpiece yet. And finally, in Fall of 2006, she was in a usual jam session with her long time co-writer Marcus Rap when they stumbled across something big; something that has never been heard before, a new futuristic sound called EclectroSonic.EclectroSonic is an innovative and infectious sound that takes pop, rock, jazz, electro and even a little trip-hop; matches it with unique and clever lyrics. Now you have an album that is like rocket fuel for the soul. Positive, infectious, melodious and intelligent and keeps all of her usual 'poppyness'. CHIKI has her own fashion tastes and isn't afraid to push the envelope! Since she has always been interested in science and physics, her 'space' element was easily brought in to this electronic rooted sound. CHIKI, the character is truly who she is; fun loving, clever, silly and a little rebellious. Now with her new sound, CHIKI pursues her biggest love, of performing, singing and dancing. Her show has amazing dance choreography from Heather Camelo who combines hip-hop, modern and lyrical ingeniously.
