The SlimP started in 2002 as a quartet. All four were deeply influenced by wave music and bands like The Cure during the 80ies. But they didn't want to warm up old stuff. ;-) With two bass-guitars and a female vocalist, they soon found their own personality and their unique sound: darkwave full of melancholy, leading you into a new dimension of music. This sound was supplemented by a second guitar during 2004/05, adding a dash of hardness to the music and to the second album "Some seconds Later". Now the four original members of The SlimP are on the way to new, even darker sounds.
During winter 2006/spring 2007 The SlimP will record their new album.

THE SLIMP
WHAT DO THEY SOUND LIKE ?
Requiem of a goth chick..s funeral. The Slimp use dirge-like beats with emphasis on bass that reek of goth in its heyday and singer Elisa sounds like siouxsie sioux..s younger sister.
WHO..S IN THE BAND? Elisa Day (vocals/bass), Mart (bass/vocals), Bernd (guitar), Silke (drums).
WHERE THEY FROM? Cologne, Germany.
THE STORY SO FAR?
Germany is the second home of goth so it..s no surprise that some of the finest dark bands come from there.This four-piece formed back in 2002 with an agenda- they wanted to create a sound that captured the spirit of the bands they grew up with... but with a twist. After playing stack of dates in their home country, The Slimp released their first album in 2004. The self-financed CD was called ..Masquerade.. and was a big hit with the German goth scene. Not ones to rest on their laurels, the band quickly released a follow-up packed with six new songs and two re-workings. There are plans to release a third album later this year. Slimp apparently stands for "shimmery liquid in marvellous plastic bottles", which roughly translates as bottled creativity without sounding quite so hippy.
