Who are we???
There are four factors to Descending Angel: Factor 1: Gene "Geno" Huling (aka Screamin G-Man). A huge Pantera {Phil} fan, Geno has spent years cultivating his screams, growls and groans, while still being able to actually "sing" and it shows in the simply complex structure of the vocals he displays in the music. Factor 2: Josh "UWA" Wylde (real last name too!). A diehard fan of music in general, Josh spends countless hours exploring every facet of his guitar, what it will do for him and what he can do with it and it shows in the rhythmically sick riffs that stand out in each song. Factor 3: Art "Artimal" Laduke (the nickname says it all). A big fan of the metal bands of yesterday like Megadeth, Slayer, etc.. Art has an endless supply of percussional energy that explodes onto and out of the drum kit that somehow withstands the assault and gives the music of this band a contagious energy. Factor 4: Jon "Holiwud" Hahn (he's the "pretty" boy). A fan of a wide variety of music styles, etc..only Jon can combine "mild mannered" and metal... His laid back demeanor is quite the camouflage to his badass bass lines that bind the other key factors of this band together.Who do we sound like???
Well... If you were to take Pantera... dilute it with a bit of old Metallica... then added a cup or two of Stone Sour and Drowning Pool.. put in a dash of Slayer and Black Label Society... with just a pinch of Alice in Chains.. and tied it all up into a loose Slipknot..... You might be close.....What kind of music is it???
The music created by Descending Angel doesn't really fit into any of today's "metal categories". It's in a genre all its own.. With a raw, pure sound like the older metal bands combined with a heavier, newer twist.. Its rhythmic sickness... Its melodic mayhem...Its controlled chaos....It is Street Metal.... all original, all american, ballsey, badass pure metal music...
