Nikos Kourkoulis was born in the city of Kavala in Northen Greece. Since the age of 13, he began to sing at parties and at weddings. At 16, he was singing in nightclubs. Coming from a family which likes music where his Grandmother used to play bouzouki and his father guitar, Nikos learned himself to play bouzouki, guitar and bass. He went to Thessaloniki at 18 years where he began to sing with well known Greek singers and later in Athens.
