Yessir....The time for honest music is upon us once again ladies and gents, and Regular, is aspiring to remain at the forefront of this reoccurring revolution! However, what sets him apart from the trend, while at the same time moving the trend forward is his tenacity to throw his regular tendencies into his music. In an industry dominated by tons of superficial things and economic struggles, Regular tries to emphasize rapping about one's insecurities, and just the regular hassles and ups & downs of daily life as a middle class working citizen struggling with loads of financial issues like debt and trying to make it on your own. "Not enough people are content with themselves, so they try to be someone else in their music. I want everyone that hears my music to really know me. And people who know me always hear my shit and be like, there goes Regular! You can't make no mistake about it cause every ounce of my personality is in my music. Yeah, I'll rap about havin fun at a club every once in a while, but even then, it's about just bein Regular and not about bein no super duper superstar cat. Whatever I choose to spit about, I gotta make sure I give Regular's view and not just what I think everyone wants to hear. Thats where a lot of artists get out of their comfort zone, cause they're so fixated on a particular image, and not the image they see in the mirror. What I really love to flow about are the real issues I go through of trying to make it in the music industry while pretending to be content at my 9-5 in the work world!" he claims grinning on a sunny southern cal afternoon. He continues sayin - "Bein broke and just tryin to get by is inspiration enough, so when you mix that in with things like emotional problems with work, school, heems (females), family, friends, and haters, the results in your music should show that. And thats what a n!gga is tryin to display on top of the beats I choose to spit on. And bein that my childhood was split up between being born up East (New Haven, CT) and being raised up there as well as in the South (Louisville, KY) with roots at the extremes of the social ladder, I definitely feel I have a different flow and twang mixed with classic hip-hop, soul, and what I like to call just talkin sh!t about the way it is out here! But i gotta lotta things to smile about, even when I'm mad, and I want that to show in my music. Cause I know it could always be worse. I'm just glad I can still feel the snare in my soul and just ride on that micky ficky...." he exclaims chuckling still. He definitely is a positive character to be around, and he wants that to be portrayed 100% in his music. He concludes his little spill with "Whatever you talk about in your music, just make sure it's good. Too much crap is out here. And as artists, we have a responsibility to put real music out there, & not all this bullshit that most of ya'll think is real." Whats funny is he thinks he's a comedian, and spends most of the day trying to amuse himself. But he is definitely serious about one thing, and thats his music......................................
