About Me

My name is Michael, I live in Winston-Salem where I work at a bookstore and am in a band called BODYSOIL. I perform vocals and write lyrics, poems, prose, jokes, scripts and stories of any length. I am originally from So. California but moved here after living in Texas for 5 years.
I worked as a Photographer in TX though I only shot fine artwork, oil & water color paintings, sculptures, little electronic gizmoes and sometimes food. Also, at the lab where I worked I had to see the Police, Fire Marshal, Paramedic and Coronor photos for ALL the cities in Collin County including any accidental or unattended deaths, murders, suicides, rapes and battered women/children.
My Priorities: Humour, Opinion, A Sense of Compassion, Creativity and a Distaste for Fashion. Other than that I aspire to succeed at Stand-Up Comedy and/or be a Feature Film Maker.

I LOVE Hard Rock, Heavy Metal, PUNK, PeacePunk, CRUST, Thrash, Grindcore, DEATH/Black/Prog METAL, Gothic, INDUSTRIAL, Dark Wave, New Wave, HipHop/RAP, BlueGrass, Jazz, Blues, Orchestral/Opera and even some Pop (but not much i swear).

I would name bands/artists but if you don't know which bands/artists who can be categorized as what, then you are an ignorant fuck-up who is not worth my time.

I DO NOT LIKE or flat out DESPISE most neo-hardcore/emo, nu-metal, indie rock/alternative and country/western stuff.

This 1992 essay was originally published in the revolutionary indigenous newspaper OH-TOH-KIN. It is a historical chronology of the colonization of the Americas - and the resistance to it. It finishes with the decade defining Mohawk resistance at Oka and reads as a prelude to the Zapatista uprising in Chiapas, Mexico in 1994. It is as relevant, and timely, as it was a decade before.
