It doesn’t interest me what you do for a living. I want to know what you ache for, and if you dare

About Me

I recently moved to Australia to be with my husband Stuart. It's been an intense experience so far. I grew up in California and I've lived in Virginia and Minnesota and spent five year in New York, but I've never moved to a different country. Although to be honest, living in New York sometimes felt like living on a different planet. My days are filled with trying to get myself settled into my new home and my new city. I go on walks to the shops, I've taken the buses to a couple of different places, I've won a meat tray at the local pub, and I've met some really good people. I go to boxing with the 4:00 pm boxing class and plan to start training at home on the days off. It's strange to move to a new place and have to come up with a completely new routine of what you do, how you do it, and who you do it with. I miss my friends, I miss my family, but I'm happy to be with my husband at last because I love him beyond all reason.

My Interests

Tattoos, boxing, the pursuit of a macrobiotic lifestyle, discovering new music, riding my bike, and the perpetual work of figuring out who I am and what I need in this life to be happy.

I'd like to meet:

My friends who are on myspace. Unfortunately, I won't be accepting friend requests from folks I don't know. Nothing personal, but I really want this to be about keeping in touch with my friends.

Music:

Devotchka, Old Crow Medicine Show, Sean Paul, Kelly Clarkson, Justin Timberlake, Bill Withers, Low, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline, The Epoxies, The Plimsouls, Neko Case, Ayumi Hamasaki, and I'm addicted to KALX.

Movies:

Brokeback Mountain, Whalerider, The Descent...basically, I will see any movie that is out there. Last movie I saw was Spider Man 3 and I'm really excited about the next Harry Potter movie. And I seem to have a weird fascination with Jennifer Garner films and constantly refer to "13 Going On 30" as "13 Going On Awesome". And zombie films! I'm utterly terrified of zombies, but sickly fascinated by zombie movies.

Television:

I hate television, but my Mom and I watch Lost every Wednesday. I own a television, but it's in my closet and I only pull it out to watch movies cuz I don't have cable. I don't think I've had cable for around ten years now and I consider that a good thing. Although I do love Buffy The Vampire Slayer.

Books:

I just finished reading "The Road" by Cormac McCarthy and have started "The Art Of Happiness" by the Daili Lama. I hope to pick up a copy of "War And Peace" and continue reading that.

Heroes:

Anyone who questions their own motives and challenges themselves and is courageous and unafraid to feel their emotions and express the workings of their hearts to those around them.

Painting

I have no artist talent. I can't paint, I can't sketch, and if the police asked me to draw a picture of a criminal they would be chasing down stick figures through the streets of Oakland. Even though ...
