The Evil Dead Trilogy, The Matrix Trilogy, V for Vendetta, Transformers (the 86 version), The Day the earth Stood still, some Hitchcock (Rear Window, Vertigo, Psycho), Tron, The ORIGINAL Star Wars trilogy (before all the added CG bullshit), Metropolis (the Fritz Lang classic), and a few more I can't remember. But it seems to mostly fall in Sci-fi and Horror.

Television:

Tv sucks!!!
The only shows I watch are Robot Chicken, Battlestar Galactica, and South Park...
I will go on record as stating that South Park is one of the best written shows on TV today. Social commentary at it's abosolute BEST.

Dune by Frank Herbert.
