.....................................Astralon is a band from Athens, Greece, consisting of three, mainly, musicians : Yiannis Folias, Billy Mourikis and Nikolai Pallis . The band formed at 2000. They were playing a sort of experimental trip-hop with Greek lyrics and a female lead voice at these days. While at it, they were lucky enough to be announced by the POP & ROCK music magazine as "the next big thing" when they won a music contest, organized by a well known school of music technology / sound engineering and Sony music. Due to internal changes, members coming and going, ideas changing and the likes, their style has developed to the recent dark electro sound with industrial implants.
But it was 2004 that they had their first two releases, one participation in Universal records "Greek Electro vol. 1" compilation, with the early form of "Precious" tune and another one in DNAlab's "Dark project" with the reconstructed "Twisting Reality". So, at the beginning of 2005 they released their first CD, a mini-lp containing 5 tunes, including "La Carte", a song with French lyrics, sung by female singer Dimitra Zaretou. Supported by RockFM radio station, "Precious" e.p. was released by the exceptional DNAlab records.
The members musical background varies from electro pop and dark wave to trance but together they make a realy unique upshot and, after many different well done appearances on stage and at radio, they became one of the most known local dark electro bands. They've been on stage supporting VNV Nation, DAF, Bermuda Triangle, S.I.T.D., Kirlian Camera, Combichrist, Mellotron and Soman, among others.-----------------------------------------------------
