About Me

Karen Mason is a dynamic sound, with fresh lyrics that search in many different directions. The music is far from trite pop, but appeals to the senses. Karen honed her skills in Nashville where she cut her first EP, "All Over Blue". Her first polished endeavor has met with wide appreciation for her unique sound in an all too often cookie cutter industry, with songs that delve into politics, real love, and sacrifice. It is rock, it is introspective, it is challenging as it is enjoyable. Not overly meloncholy, but rich.Karen Mason began as a classical pianist who moved to Nashville to pursue music in college. While at Belmont University she formed a band, Blind to Babylon that enjoyed a regional fan base. It wasn't until a few years later that Karen began to flesh out a sound of her own, with influences ranging from straight ahead rock to singer songwriter to blues and soul. Her range and vocal ability is impressive on her debut as well as the musicianship of the players on the album. She now resides in Kansas City and upcoming show dates should be posted soon for the surrounding region.
