body {background-color:FFFFFE;Darnell Nelson (aka as SEAKI)was originally born in Sao Paulo,Brazil april 6,1980,and grew up in varies cities,eventually settling in lousiana."My parents when i was born, had careers that always had us as a family unit traveling all over the place,I think I received my first passport at the age of 2 years" darnell explains,while chuckling.
A"designer's designer" is often the term that most in the New York fashion industry use to desribe Darnell and his awe-inspiring talent."Respect in the New York fashion industry is hard to get, but I think most of my fellow collegues respect me cause I work very hard,im not really in fashion for the fame,..i just love what i do".
Having attended Parsons School of Design and received a BFA in Fashion Design in 1995,Darnell was then ready for to "take the fashion world by storm"."My first job was with the famous italian tailor Pierro Dimitri on Fifth Avenue, and he was rough to work for,but I learned sooo much". When asked why he decided, after a succesful 12 career in the corporate fashion world,to start SEAKI CREATIVE SERVICES,Darnell grins that now famous crooked grin. "I got tired of making other folks millions of dollars,and felling empty inside,i needed the ultimate challenge in my career, to take it to the next step". When asked if he has any regrets,Darnell looks at me sharply,smiles,"I only regret i did not branch on my own sooner".
As owner and Head designer of SEAKI CREATIVE SERVICES,Darnell often labors intensivly with individuals that want to produce product lines."I get a lot of potential clients that come to me with wads of cash,and tell me to put a line together for them, i explain to them it does not work that way, and to come back to me when they have REALLY want to invest the time and effort it takes to place a clothing line onto the sales market, I usually have no problem with telling folks NO,GO BACK AND DO YOUR HOMEWORK". "Fashion is a really competitive business,and the line(s) I develope with clients should be allowed a fighting chance.I dont deal with clients that just want to get rich real quick,cause the garment indusrty does not usually work that way".
When asked who would be his "dream client",Darnell smiles,"He or she has to be savy, I can spot that a mile away, and smart,understand trends, and know EXACTLY what they want from thier product line,thats all I ask,I'll take care of the rest".

I adore this song with all my heart, when this song came out, i was going through a VERY HARD TIMEin my life (but AMANI WAS WITH ME!!!!!!!!!!!she is one of my friends!!!! love you booooobooooooo!!!!!)and when i first saw the video to this song, it brought tears to my eyes,..cause Mary was sayin all i had to say,...she in that video represented all of the powerful potential that i had as a designer, needless to say, i found a great design position a few weeks later after this song came out.
