London Calling - and it’s going to be a major musical heatwave!
London's legendary music festival, THE LOVEBOX WEEKENDER, hurtles into its 7th year; bigger and better than ever with no fewer than EIGHT venues of eclectic musical programming as well as the usual carnival of anarchic entertainment and top quality food, all of which goes to make Lovebox London’s only real festival.
BIG ACTS ON A BIG STAGE: Following last year’s sold out extravaganza, 2008 sees headline performances from Oklahoma City’s finest The Flaming Lips with their only London show of the year; joining them will be the electro-cum-folk Goddess Goldfrapp in one of only 2 UK festival appearances in 2008 and with tracks from her amazing new album.
Of course the show would not be complete without a turn from mighty Groove Armada, and as the hosts of the show they will perform an amazing new live show, fresh for ‘08. Throw in The Human League for a retro-electro master class and London Town’s very own Jack Penate plus many more big acts to confirm from a wide musical remit and get the picture that this will be the biggest line up ever.

The Late Night Tales series has been running for over five years, during which time it has firmly established itself as the connoisseur’s choice of mix CD. Now reaching the twentieth in the series, Late Night Tales have called back Groove Armada, compilers of the biggest selling LNT to date, to celebrate this milestone release.
Much more than just a collection of songs, Groove Armada have painstakingly reedited and re-sequenced many of the tracks here to create a seamless mix that flows smoothly despite the eclectic selection of tracks, which one might even dare to call ‘Balearic’! With the choice of artists moving between the classic (Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Depeche Mode, The Cure) to the current (Midlake, Joakim, Peter, Bjorn and John), Groove Armada display all the musical authority and passion that typifies the Late Night Tales series.
The (always) exclusive cover version is a great take on the classic ‘Are Friends Electric?’ by Gary Newman. This twentieth release is quite possibly the best Late Night Tales yet, with the art of the mixtape in good hands.
