Philippe was born on valentines day, 1985 in Geneva to a Spanish dad and Serbian mother..(cool mix huh?). His father is a hardcore Real madrid fan so he wanted his sons to play football, but as his first brother wasn't interested....senderos was lucky enough to not only fulfil his dads wishes of being a footballer but also got a real madrid shirt as part of the bargain. (his brother plays basketball back in switzerland as a pro.) So blah blah., then later Senderos joined servette as a young boy where he began playing football. ..However, he really shot to attention when he went the European under-17 Championship in 2002, where he captained the switzerland team (also with a young djourou on the team) and won the tournament, not easy considering that a young cesc fabregas was also taking part in the competition for Spain! Many clubs became interested, including Manchester united, AC Milan, Inter milan and Bayern munich. And of course Arsenal won out in the end, as they always do. Senderos in his first season was unluckily injured for a whole year but fast forward to today,where Senderos has established himself as a regular in te side as well as setting a champions league record alongside Kolot, the flamster and clichy. He is primarily known for his great heading ability, leadership and immense intelligence (explaining why his positioning and ability to read the game are very good). This intelligence also spreads to outside the game where senderos unlike most other premiership footballers reads quality books, and enjoys going to the cinema as opposed to driving very fast down roads and nearly crashing because they were not given a 5,000 pound raise..*cough cough*
