I am one of the kazillion singer/songwriters who moved to Nashville to do their thing. Originally from Tacoma, WA, I decided almost 4 years ago to take the leap of faith and move out to Nashville to further develop and pursue my songwriting and artistry. Although it has been full of ups and downs, as life is for most of us, it has been the most amazing and wonderful experience. I could never thank God enough for the people He has brought into my life to help shape me creatively, and especially spiritually.
Music has driven me every day of my life since I can remember. I sang my first solo in church when I was 4 years old, standing on a chair in front of a couple hundred people.
By the time I was 21, I had recorded two independent Cd's, and was busy singing most weekends in churches around the Northwest area. The summer of 2000, I headed off to the GMA Seminar in the Rockies in Estes Park, CO and took home the 1st place regional and international award in the Southern Gospel category. The following year I went back and got 3rd place in the CCM category. It was from these events in my life that I met one of my publishers who I have the privilege of working with today at Centricity Music. Two years ago I signed my first contract as a staff writer with Centricity. It has been such a rich experience as I look back over the past two years and think about all the talented writers I've been so blessed to know and write with. As a writer, I love writing all styles of songs including, inspo, worship, pop, Southern Gospel and country. I generally write more lyrics than melody in co-writing sessions, mostly because my co-writers are usually really good at writing melodies and I'm a bit insecure in that area. :) As an artist, I am currently working on my 3rd independent release through 717 Records. My heart and passion is for the church who is broken and hurting...for them to know the love of Christ, His hope and healing, and to encourage them in their faith to trust Him in and beyond their circumstances.
