What can I say about myself......let me THINK?I am very Patriotic!I raise pet birds such as cockatiels, English budgies, and parrotlets. (tiny parrot with a big personality)I'm happily married (my wife told me to say this *grin*)We have 3 grown kids and 9 grand children, that's counting my 2 adopted grand children...Being a parent is a lot of work, being a grandparent is a lot more fun. Having a family also makes grown-ups very happy. Kids make almost anything more fun, so it's no wonder people want to have them in their lives. There must be a way to have your grand kids first? *grin*Our oldest granddaughter is now 23 years old.
Annisa 23 years old.
Annisa is our sweet pink 'Rose' she keep the sun-shining in our hearts. Our first grandchild. She is going to collage to be come a nurse, as she is already a unit clerk at the hospital. I have high hopes on that girl .... she's going to run her own hospital someday.Jaron is 20 years old.
This is the guy that started me out on MySpace, yep blame him for creating a green-eyed monster. *Smile*
Jaron was in Jr. ROTC all throw high school. He is going to collage and heading for a nursing-aid degree to start with and then looking for bigger and better degrees. When he's not at collage you can find him working at Wal*Mart. If you want to see a HAPPY GUY working... stop in and say, Hey.
Robbie is our 18 year old United States Marine Corp Grandson. He said he just went through the hardest months of my entire life,(boot camp) and there's nothing that can stop him now. He stationed in Marine Corps Base Camp in DC.
Kara is 17 years old, she's a senior in high school,
and in the Flute Section leader in our Marching Band!Twins are now 16 years old. Being a grandparent to twins is a special blessings. Not only are there more grandchildren to love, but we played a very special role in their lives. We helped foster a special relationship with our multiple grandsons, as well as be supportive to their single Mother.Grandparents can be an invaluable source of assistance to the parent of multiples. Be an extra set of hands to help care for infant multiples, but also consider providing support by picking up the slack while parent are focused on their babies: make meals, run errands, do laundry, or working.Alex is a busy 12 year old and goes to school but says he doesn't like it. He played football last year but I think he did it for his dad? This year he's trying to keep up with his studies. Alex enjoys playing video games with his older brothers. He works hard to prove he is just as tough as his two brothers. Alex has never had a problem keeping up.
Andrew 2 1/2 Years. Andrew is our two year old he is a very smart, he knows his abc's his colors and his number up to 15. We are very proud of him, he picks up everything really fast. He's starting to show us his two year old altitude about not having time to go to the potty, as he says it takes to much time. Yep ....... I think he's right. *grin* This boy is showing us guys up when he stands up at the potty now. He's our BIG BOY now.
Paul 1 year old. This guy is our baby, but not to many people can call him that! He lets his big cousin Zach call him that, and I get away with it sometimes. He can talk but kind of particular who he talks to. If I ask him to tell grandma something he just picks out one word, and in most cases it 'Grandma'
I love my grandchildren and there is always room for more. (We should of had our grand-kids first *SMILE*)WE JUST GOT WORD 11/02/07 THAT WE ARE GOING TO GET ANOTHER GRANDBABY AROUND THE 4TH OF JULY!!!I enjoy the great outdoors in the SUMMER, warm weather, my plants, flowers & lawn....
Right out of my yardI joined the US Army, just out of high school. (18 Ys old)I spent 4 years and 6 months or so in the US Army. While I was in Basic Training, the pinky finger on my right hand was paralyzed with a practice hand grenade. (Practice grenades contain 2 oz of TNT) OUCH!I could have got out of the Army but didn't want to, so start my training over again, after my cast came off and my hand got better.
I was stationed in Fort Wayne, Detroit (Historic Fort Wayne) Michigan, Fort Knox Kentucky, Fort Hood Texas, Frankfurt Germany, Manneim Germany, Stuttgart Germany, Bamberg Germany, Göppingen, Germany. I served in Berlin, during the Cold War. (Iron-curtain) “Gone but not forgottenâ€.I'm a member of the America Legion, for more then 20 years.Tried to get in to the VFW, but sorry to say they don't think the “Cold War†was a foreign war? I can't understand that as we where shot at, but couldn't shot back. I guess we where just moving targets?Came back to the states for a short time. Stationed at Fort Sheraton,(Historic) Illinois, Camp McCoy Wisconsin. And then I was shipped back to Orléans, France.Army Service RibbonArmy Overseas Service RibbonArmy Good Conduct MedalI was in the Infantry, Calvary, and Artillery and drove a 50-ton truck. Because I couldn't back up the truck with a long trailer on it, they made me a jeep driver for the Officer in charge of the Mess Hall. After a while the Officer no longer needed a driver and a jeep, so I was sent to a culinary school, and I become a cook. When I was in 'Cook' School,I met Warren Davis (the writer and singer of the song "Who Wrote The Book Of Love?" by The Monotones). they were a six-member rock ‘n’ roll band in the 1950's. They are considered a one-hit wonder, as their only song to reach widespread popularity was the doo-wop hit "(Who Wrote) The Book of Love", which peaked at #5 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1958.I met and made friends with Elvis Presley in Germany (Hell on Wheels) I was the 1st cook at that time in the mess hall that Elvis ate in. Elvis also pulled 'KP' (Kitchen Police) I was the one that told him to take the trash out, and scrub out several trash cans with steel wool. (SOS pads) The trash cans were huge and you had to craw inside of them to clean them. Elvis would say, "OK Cookie!" With a. SMILE. On his face. He was a nice guy and was very easy to get along with...YES... friends are friends forever together 'tell the end.The service was a great experience, I had some great times and some bad time ... but hey that's life!I seen country's and places that I would of never seen.Met and got to know some great guys that at one time was like brothers.I was a roommate to the son of the man that started Howard Johnson Hotels and Restaurants ... his name was Howard Johnson JR.....When I was a young man some people considered me an artist. As I was spreading oil paint on canvas in a lot of my spare time. Started when I was in art class in high school, and then after the Army some night class at the Institute of Art.I have done lot of oil paints in my years.... some good and some not so good "Beauty is in the eyes of the Beholder" I often showed and sold my painting in the malls, as a member of the Greater Art Guild....I volunteered at a local Hospital as "Mealtime Companion" I helped fed patients that couldn't fed themselves.Later trained to work as a hospital aid and home healthcare "aid & setter" (sat with patients coming off alcohol and drugs lots of them in restrains. (Leather handcuffs, and leg cuffs).... I often talked them off the restrains, and made good friends...This was a paid job, but in some case I would of done it for nothing.I am retired from GM Fisher Body plant 1 & Buick City....Learning to get around on this contraption (computer) has really been a challenge. They say it's a stimulating task of problems for Senior Citizens to learn new things....
