Gene "Patron Silver" You will be missed but never forgotten my friend...THE ONLY SOLDIER THAT COULD COMFORT THIS CHILD....Lance Cpl. Jeremy A. Wortman, rifleman, 3rd Battalion, 4th Marines gleams with joy after seeing his three-month-old son for the first time.May 18, 2007 Cpl. Matthew Alexander's funeral ~~~~ The angel hovered just above- The lifeless form below- A life that started with a cry- Not many years ago.Come now my son, you must arise- Your work here now is ended- You have fought for right and freedom- Your country you have defended. We go now to another place- Where peace and love abide- And join your comrades who will greet you- In your heavenly home on high. All those you love, and those who love you- In their hearts you will forever be- The one who gave his very all- That the living may be free. SPC. WILLIAM BAILEY IIIMarines are taught to: 1) keep their priorities in order 2) know when to act without hesitation.A Marine was attending a college course between missions in Iraq and Afghanistan. The professor, an avowed atheist, shocked the class one day when he walked in, looked toward the ceiling, and said loudly, "God if you are real, then I want you to knock me off this platform. I'll give you exactly 15 minutes."The lecture room fell silent and the professor began his lecture. Ten minutes went by and the professor proclaimed, "Here I am God - still waiting!"It got down to the last minute when the Marine stood up, walked toward the professor and threw his best punch knocking him off the platform and out cold. The Marine went back to his seat and sat down. The other students were shocked and stunned and sat there looking in silence. Then the professor came to, noticeably shaken, looked at the Marine and asked, "What the hell is the matter with you? Why did you do that?"The Marine calmly replied, "God is busy today protecting America's soldiers who are protecting your right to behave like a freaking idiot. and say stupid stuff! So......he sent me!"This picture was taken at Glencoe Campground in Sturgis, SD. This Gentleman is a member of the Patriot Guard Rider/Bugler from Shreveport, LA. It was a sight to see him ride to the high spot at dusk and play Taps. I heard many comments from many people and they were all good. People were impressed and they would be looking forward to dusk to see him ride and honor those who gave all. Photogpher Steven R. Goodnight Member PGR Montana Gunnery Sgt. Michael Burghardt signals his defiance after being struck by an improvised explosive device on Sept. 19 near Ramadi, Iraq. The Marine refused to be carried away on a stretcher and walked under his own power to a waiting medevac. Among those attending to the Marine are Spc. John Adams (far left in front) and Pfc. Darin Nelson.
