About Me

I enjoy the study of mythology and religion, both ancient and modern. I suppose I am (theoretically, at least) a pagan. Or should that be a P.A.G.A.N (and if you get that reference, you are wicked cool)? I do tend to lean toward the Principia Dischordia in most things, but even Chaos needs a leg (or 73) to stand on.I like to camp, and I feel that I would be at my happiest in a little cabin in the woods, with my own little vegetable garden and some goats (of course, I would have to have a high speed connection out there somehow... I am a product of this modern world, after all.)I am interested in life and those who live it, and those who have lived it.I am a photographer. That is my hobby, and currently how I make my money. I have ambition of one day being a paid writer.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

an albino conjoined twin midget Satanist. But that's probably not going to happen. I suppose I would settle for people that have interesting and engaging ideas about the world around them. I'm not interested in the ignorant, or the judgemental. I have my own ignorance and my own preconcieved notions, and I don't want to expend any energy in attempting to hold onto them despite myself.

Television:

Farscape, Firefly, M*A*S*H*, Heroes, Pushing Daisies, Family Guy. I don't really watch TV all that often anymore, but my childhood was essentially a long string of worship at the pop-culture altar.

Books:

All of them, really. I don't claim to have read nearly as much as I would like to have done, and I am not even certain that I would qualify as truly "well read." But I am a bibliophile. Books are beautiful things. Antique books, especially. I would love one day to be blessed enough to be an antique book dealer.A short list of some of my favourite authors would include Neil Gaiman, Terry Pratchett, Kurt Vonnegut, Robert Heinlein, Margaret Atwood, Caitlin Kiernan, Charles Dickens, and William Shakespeare. There are more. Ye gods, are there more.

Heroes:

There are those who I admire, and whose deeds or achievements I may strive, in my own small way, to emulate. But I seek my own path.I feel strongly that I am the Author and the chief Antagonist of my own life story.
